Cake Cutting Tips

  • For Swiss meringue buttercream (SMBC) iced cakes, let sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to one hour before cutting
  • For cream based cakes (like tiramisu), keep chilled until you are ready to serve
  • You can use a long straight edge knife or a serrated one
  • Wipe down knife between each cut
  • Having a deep cup with hot water to let knife sit in between cuts can make a difference in slice presentation (for SMBC iced cakes only)
