For Swiss meringue buttercream (SMBC) iced cakes, let sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to one hour before cutting

For cream based cakes (like tiramisu), keep chilled until you are ready to serve

You can use a long straight edge knife or a serrated one

Wipe down knife between each cut

Having a deep cup with hot water to let knife sit in between cuts can make a difference in slice presentation (for SMBC iced cakes only)
